Description
Plan and deliver organised workshops to students with additional learning needs to support their success, achievement, and progress. All workshops should be informed by students' needs and include subjects such as exam skills, social skills, independence skills, employability skills, study skills, and life skills. This role plays a key part in contributing to students' outcomes and success.
Collaborate with the ALS/Enhance Team Leaders, Programme Coordinators, Transition Coordinators, and Enrichment Team to plan and deliver a wide range of extracurricular activities for students with EHCPs. The aim is to meet their specified outcomes, facilitate greater independence, and enable students with high needs funding and declared support needs to access learning and college facilities. This role is a maternity cover, fixed-term contract.
This position involves 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
* Plan, facilitate, and deliver tailored workshops and 1:1 support meetings for students with SEND, promoting independence and success in their chosen fields and daily lives.
* Assist in target setting for individual students, collaborating with curriculum teams to use EHCP outcomes to set ambitious learning goals that enhance employment opportunities and independence. Attend review meetings and PCARs to support development and review of personalized learning goals.
* Work with Teachers and Learning Support Assistants to monitor student progress, including target grades, and identify learning skills needed for progress. Use this information to develop support programs.
* Utilize and develop learning resources, including assistive technology and online/remote learning tools, to support students in overcoming barriers to achieving their goals.
* Review, develop, and implement strategies and interventions (e.g., Zones of Regulation) to boost students' confidence and self-esteem.
* Assess, analyze, and report on student progress, attending reviews as needed to measure the impact of interventions over time.
* Support the identification of student needs at interview to facilitate planning support before enrollment.
* Coordinate with Parents/Carers, College staff, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support plans for each student.
* Act as the main contact for students and families during key periods, including facilitating Person Centred Annual Reviews (PCARs) for EHCP students and ensuring smooth transitions.
* Promote the work of the ALS/Enhance team within the college to foster an inclusive culture.
