Cook
Location - Leatherhead
Salary - From £13.50 per hour DOE
Hours - 42.5 per week, 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday
Duties of a Cook :
- Baking a variety of cakes, tray bakes and pastries set to recipes.
- Preparation of Pasta dishes, salads, a variety of seasonal soups in addition to other menu items.
- Consistently producing good quality food in line with food safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Report any safety or maintenance issues in line with company policies.
- Strong knowledge of allergy and dietary requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
- Always ensure that COSHH as well as Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
- Help out other kitchen members where required - including but not limited to food preparation, cleaning and dishwashing
Supervisory aspects of a Cook :
- Support management teams by taking responsibility for in addition to promoting safe food handling practices.
- Support Management teams in taking responsibility for stock control and quality of food items.
- To effectively identify any staff training requirements and support the management team in delivery of training.
- To assist in daily running of the catering department ensuring staff are motivating with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
- To effectively coordinate Morning and evening routines alongside the Duty Manager.
The ideal candidate :
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and allergens.
- Good knowledge of the client, the type of food they serve and their history.
- Be adaptable to a changing work environment in line with business requirements
- Be of smart appearance and good personal hygiene.
- To work effectively solo or as part of a team
