About the Role
As a Switchboard Telephonist, you will:
* Operate screen-based console and keyboard systems in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment.
* Answer and service all incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information, and transferring calls efficiently.
* Route emergency calls and ensure all emergency procedures are followed according to departmental and Trust policies (including cardiac arrest, traumas, fire calls, and disaster/emergency situations).
* Operate paging systems to broadcast messages to various stakeholders.
* Update records related to directory information and on-call rotas.
* Monitor alarm systems and take appropriate action as per standard operating procedures.
* Ensure a smooth handover to the next operator at the end of your shift.

Essential Criteria
4 GCSE's including Maths and English A-C
OR
One years experience in a telecommunications related role
Experience in computer software packages including Microsoft office and Microsoft outlook or equivalent
