Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Skilled Labourer/Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely, while also carrying out skilled labouring duties on site. This includes site clearance, assisting trades, carrying out minor repair works, and ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard. Heavy lifting and strong time management are essential. A construction background is required, with a willingness to learn and progress within the role.
Key Duties
* Drive and operate long wheelbase vans for material and waste transport.
* Carry out general site labouring, including clean-up and waste removal.
* Load and unload building materials and equipment.
* Perform basic repair and finishing tasks, such as painting, patching, and making good.
* Use and maintain a range of power tools safely and effectively.
* Assist with minor carpentry and plumbing tasks where required.
* Identify and work with materials and tools efficiently, with good product knowledge.
* Support skilled tradespeople with day-to-day duties.
* Adhere to all health & safety procedures on site.
* Report hazards, damages, or issues to the supervisor promptly.
Desirable Skills
* Basic knowledge of plumbing (e.g., replacing taps, minor pipework).
* Basic carpentry/joinery skills (e.g., fitting skirting boards, repairing timber).
* Experience in painting and decorating.
* Good understanding of construction materials, tools, and site processes.
* Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
