Job Description
The HR Administrator provides crucial support to the HR department by performing various administrative tasks. This role ensures efficient HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee record management, payroll processing, and compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The HR Admin also acts as a point of contact for employees regarding HR matters and supports the smooth operation of HR functions within the organisation.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Supporting the business by being the first point of contact for HR queries and contributing to their resolution, escalating to other HR team members when required.
2. Recruitment & Selection: Administer the company's Talent Acquisition Software, create job templates, advertise vacancies through various channels including social media, schedule interviews, manage employment offers, and handle terms & conditions of employment for hourly employees.
3. Participate in interviews for hourly team members.
4. Maintain recruitment trackers to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate.
5. Engage in recruitment activities such as job fairs and open evenings.
6. Coordinate onboarding processes to provide a positive first impression of the company, its core values, and culture.
7. Maintain the company's time and attendance system, including reporting on absence triggers.
8. Administer Oracle HCM, ensuring data accuracy.
9. Process weekly payroll efficiently and on time.
10. Support disciplinary and grievance procedures alongside managers/supervisors.
11. Assist with implementing and monitoring HR procedures and compliance.
12. Organise Occupational Health referrals and follow up on recommendations.
13. Assist with performance management processes, including documentation for appraisals and probation reviews.
14. Support employee engagement activities throughout the year.
15. Administer the company's e-learning platforms and schedule training sessions.
16. Promote and administer employee benefits.
17. Participate in community and school initiatives, including career fairs and Young Enterprise programs.
18. Coordinate tasks related to the company's communication strategy.
Skills Needed
* Experience working in an engineering environment (desired).
* Proficiency with Sage 50 Payroll.
* Experience working in a confidential environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and systems like Oracle HCM.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and numerical skills.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an HR administrative role.
