We’re on the hunt for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join our Tech pillar where you’ll proactively and holistically design, create, and manage 1st Central’s overall data architecture. In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for setting and managing the strategy for the organisation’s data architecture, providing architectural direction for the Data Platform, supporting the delivery and formulation of business outcomes, and the data capabilities required to deliver them.

What’s involved:
* Leading analysis of the business’ future-state data capabilities and technology environment to detect gaps and opportunities and recommend solutions.
* Interpreting and delivering impactful strategic plans to improve data integration, quality, and delivery.
* Proactively defining the Enterprise Data Architecture through standards, reference models, and architecture designs.
* Developing a roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise data architecture from current to future state.
* Reviewing emerging technology trends within the data domain and their practical application.
* Presenting gap analysis and data technology investment roadmaps, recommending opportunities for improvement.
* Facilitating collaboration across architecture community, business leaders, and delivery teams.
* Monitoring the current-state data enterprise to identify deficiencies.
* Collaborating with teams to understand data needs and develop solutions.
* Developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
* Leading the development and management of an enterprise view of data consumption and production.
* Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
* Maintaining department risk registers and creating governance documentation.
Experience & Knowledge:
* Significant experience in enterprise and data architecture roles.
* Exposure to diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
* Understanding of strategic technology trends and their business applications.
* Proficiency in designing modern data platforms and architectures such as cloud services, real-time data distribution, and data warehouses (e.g., Datalake, Databricks, Synapse, PowerBI).
* Experience creating and maintaining enterprise data architectures in large organizations using Agile methodologies.
* Knowledge of database technologies, data governance frameworks, entity-relationship modelling, metadata systems, and data quality tools.
* Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and leveraging architectural tooling.
* Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and senior audiences.
* Understanding of business, operating, and financial models, including risk management.
* Familiarity with change models and agile frameworks at an enterprise level.
* Knowledge of FCA requirements (including Consumer Duty).
