An exciting opportunity has opened for a Digital Developer in Operational Learning, which is part of our dedicated tri-force HR department.

Operational Learning provides professional expertise, support, and appropriate learning solutions to meet the requirements of the identified learning needs and priorities of the three forces. As a Digital Developer, you will be pivotal to the success of the agreed Digital Learning Strategy.

Working as part of a tri-force department, you will be expected to travel and liaise with colleagues from any of the training sites, which include Dunstable, Monks Wood, Welwyn Garden City, and Letchworth. This is a full-time post with the opportunity for some home working.

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual with proven creative flair, responsive to change, and able to provide innovative solutions for a broad range of digital learning requirements.

You will be responsible for designing and developing a variety of effective virtual learning materials and programmes, supporting Operational Learning colleagues and forces in making existing programmes more blended in their approach and content. Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential for the role, as you will need to convey the range of digital/blended learning concepts available in an engaging manner. You must keep up to date, ensuring the digital learning provided remains current in terms of content design and methodology.

Working within a small digital team, you will be accountable for:

* Content Creation: Design and development of high-quality digital learning materials, video production and editing, interactive activities, and assessments using our specialist authoring tools Storyline and ADAPT.
* Collaboration: Working closely with a range of subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
* Innovation: Using the latest instructional design methodologies and technologies to create engaging learning experiences.
* Project Management: Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards and WCAG guidelines.

If you are shortlisted for an interview, you will be expected to evidence against all the personal qualities and entry requirements stipulated in the role profile and deliver a short micro digital learning package (approximately 5 minutes). Candidates will be given the topic at the time of being advised they have been shortlisted for an interview. The purpose of this micro digital teaching session is to satisfy the board that you possess the technical and communication skills required to develop a digital learning package in an effective, professional, and successful manner.

Further information on the post can be obtained from 7979 Bev Bates (Beverley.bates@herts.police.uk) 07736 481068.
