Job Description
Finance & HR Manager
Full-time role based out of our N1 office in Hoxton Square, with opportunities for hybrid & flexible working
THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Finance & HR Officer to join our small, friendly team at the National Centre for Circus Arts. This is a vital role in the organisation, responsible for keeping our financial processes running smoothly and ensuring a positive, well-organised experience for staff across the employee journey.
Working closely with the COO and Finance Team, you’ll process and record financial transactions, support payroll and pensions, and maintain accurate records using our accounting system (NetSuite). Alongside the finance duties, you’ll lead on the day-to-day HR function, coordinating recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and training records, and being the first port of call for staff HR queries.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is organised, proactive, and people-focused, and wants to utilise their skills in finance and HR within a creative, values-led organisation. You’ll be a key part of our Operations team and have a genuine impact on the wellbeing and effectiveness of staff across all departments, from performers and technicians to tutors and office staff.
The role is based at our vibrant building in Hoxton, where we train future circus professionals, run workshops and events, and support the national circus sector. We offer hybrid working and a supportive environment for personal development and progression.
YOUR BACKGROUND
We’re looking for someone who has administration experience working in finance or HR, ideally both, and who enjoys a varied role that combines precision, communication and problem-solving. You might have worked in a charity, creative business, or higher education setting, or come from a corporate environment and be looking for a change.
You should be confident with systems like Sage Payroll or NetSuite (or similar) and have a good working knowledge of Excel. You’ll be used to handling sensitive information, working to deadlines, and balancing competing priorities. Most of all, you’ll be someone who enjoys working with people and keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes.
Whether you’re looking to take the next step in your finance or HR career, or bring your experience to a new environment, we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
This is an exciting time to join the National Centre as we support the growth of circus as a recognised, inclusive and innovative art form in the UK and beyond.
We’re offering:
* £30,000–£32,500 per annum, depending on experience
* 30 days annual leave including bank holidays, increasing with service
* Contributory pension scheme
* Hybrid working options and flexible hours
* Access to training and CPD
* Free or discounted tickets to performances and classes
* A warm, creative and inclusive working environment
