We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Mental Health Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team within the Inclusion Drug & Alcohol Service, working specifically with individuals experiencing homelessness.
Main Duties of the Job
* Provide mental health assessments, risk assessments, and care planning for people with complex needs.
* Work proactively with individuals who may be non‑engaging, transient or have experienced trauma.
* Deliver evidence based interventions, including harm reduction advice and relapse prevention support.
* Collaborate with substance misuse workers, social care, homeless outreach teams, and health partners.
* Support individuals to access physical health care, safeguarding support, housing, and wider community services.
* Contribute to the development of trauma‑informed, psychologically safe pathways for people experiencing homelessness.
* Maintain clinical records, care plans, and documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
Job Responsibilities
* Has experience in mental health, substance misuse, or community work.
* Understands the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.
* Uses trauma informed, person centred approaches.
* Works well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Builds trusting relationships and engages people creatively.
* Is confident in clinical decision‑making and risk management.
Experience Requirement
* Experience of working in homelessness / drug and alcohol services.
* Experience and knowledge of co‑occurring conditions.
Qualifications
* Mental Health Nurse registration.
