We are looking for a passionate and experienced Safeguarding Manager to join our team and take the lead in promoting a culture of safety and protection for Children in Care, Children in Need, and Care Leavers.
In this vital role, you will oversee safeguarding operations and ensure all referrals and concerns are handled effectively, in line with legislation, policy, and best practice. You will also play a key role in engaging with external safeguarding teams and representing the organisation in key meetings and hearings.
The successful applicant will be subject to Disclosure checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service. Full UK Driving Licence is essential. DVLA checks will be carried out.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and embed safeguarding policies, protocols, and procedures across the organisation
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring a safe and stable environment for young people
Promote best practice and a safety-first culture across all children's contracts
Build and maintain strong relationships with local safeguarding teams and external stakeholders
Keep policies and procedures up to date with current legislation and guidance
Deliver safeguarding training and provide expert advice to staff
Ensure timely and effective responses to safeguarding concerns and referrals
Monitor data and reporting to ensure contractual compliance and continuous improvement
Work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with data protection, including GDPR
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Significant experience in a safeguarding role, ideally within children's services
Strong knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and procedures
Experience delivering training and supporting staff in safeguarding matters
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage complex cases and make informed decisions under pressure
