Arbour Academy is a Pupil Health Referral Unit based in Eccles, working with young people with a range of SEMH needs. We have a very strong record of success with our pupils and maintain high levels of support for them and their family network.
Job Overview
Arbour Academy has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Mentor to work with groups of students with a range of SEMH/SEND needs. We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring individual to address pastoral and academic barriers to learning for a targeted group of individual pupils via small group and 1-1 study sessions in order to enable them to achieve their full potential.
The successful applicant will be required to develop and implement integration packages, pastoral and catch-up interventions, and liaise with families and agencies to enhance access to education.
Applicants should have high expectations for all students and be committed to developing their full potential. Previous experience in working with pupils with Autism and sensory needs is desirable.
It is expected that applicants will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possess good literacy and numeracy to support learning, have the ability to promote independence and confidence, and be an excellent role model to all.
You must have a caring, positive, and flexible attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team, and be able to use your own initiative and work without supervision.
