Position: Firmware Developer - Principal level
Location: Southampton, UK
Overview:
Following our client’s worldwide expansion: natural growth, acquisitions and new global projects we are looking to bring on board a Firmware Developer - Principal level to be based in one of their European HQ in Southampton, UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Firmware Developer - Principal level to join a successful and very niche international organization and bring it to the next level!
Responsibilities Include:
* Reporting to Head of R&D / Engineering and working closely with local and international teams
* Programming/ coding in Embedded C, C++ real-time environments (HW close programming) aimed to improve the next generations well as existing intelligent products
* Responsibility for hands-on design, lifecycle management and testing of firmware systems
* Taking the initiative as well as working together with other engineers and business in order to ensure products reliability
* Operating as the link between the business and systems/applications
* Maintaining the existing codes whilst considering the security-related features
* Testing documenting and constantly reviewing the efficiency of the products
Candidate Profile:
* Educated to degree level in IT /, electronics or similar
* Seniority: at least 6 years of C or C++ / firmware development experience in hightech - developing algorithms for data processing
* Excellent communicator – able to work with other colleagues, senior directors, internal and external stakeholders of the business
* Senior hands-on person with a high orientation towards quality
* Outstanding debugging skills
* Fluency in English required + 1 European language would be a plus
