Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Manager – Drive Quality in a High-Growth Clean Energy Company
Location: London or South Wales. Hybrid.
We’re working with a pioneering UK-based energy company that’s pushing the boundaries of sustainable innovation. As a specialist in green hydrogen and low-carbon infrastructure, the organisation is playing a central role in the UK’s journey to Net Zero. Due to rapid growth and expanding project demands, they’re now seeking a QHSE Manager to strengthen their commitment to operational integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement.
About the role:
As the QHSE Manager, you’ll take the lead in developing, implementing, and maintaining best-in-class QHSE management systems. You’ll ensure alignment with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001), embed a strong safety and quality culture, and provide strategic insight to leadership as the company scales its operations.
You’ll work across a variety of project and operational settings - from office-based coordination to on-site inspections - while supporting a fast-moving team of engineers, developers, and commercial specialists.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement QHSE policies, systems, and procedures to meet ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards
* Conduct regular audits, site inspections, and compliance reviews
* Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, driving corrective and preventative action
* Deliver training and guidance to staff on all QHSE-related matters
* Oversee quality assurance of both management systems and technical outputs
* Monitor and report on QHSE performance, risks, and trends to senior stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and environmental legislation
* Support risk management, emergency preparedness, and process safety initiatives
What we’re looking for:
A confident QHSE professional with experience in high-complexity industries such as energy, engineering, or manufacturing. You’re a systems-thinker who’s proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about embedding a culture of quality and safety.
Required experience and qualifications:
* Degree in Process Engineering or a related field
* In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards
* Strong experience in developing and managing QHSE systems
* Understanding of process safety management
* Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills
* Proficiency in incident reporting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement frameworks
* Comfortable working across both office and project site environments
* Experience in renewable energy or clean technology sectors
* Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability best practices
* Knowledge of risk management and emergency response planning
* Be part of a mission-driven company working on critical energy transition projects
* Influence culture and systems during a period of high growth and innovation
* Collaborate with a talented, passionate team dedicated to making a real impact
* Enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to grow your career in a future-focused industry
If you're ready to bring your QHSE expertise to a company that’s building the future of energy, please apply below or contact marcus.latham@practicus.com
