As Trainee Support Practitioner at Hub International, your role will be to provide invaluable support to the Programme Manager in planning and delivery of our Youth & Employment Programmes within the central belt. Trainees come to us for support, looking for the skills and confidence to achieve their dreams. As they embark on their journey with Hub International, you are the constant support, guiding them through each day and in to the future. You will bring passion for the hospitality industry to every session as you encourage your trainees to join the worlds most exciting industry.

Your work will include employability training, behaviour management, 121 and group coaching, sourcing placements, health and safety and supporting the general welfare of every cohort you meet. You will be the perfect blend of coach and trainer, seen by your trainees as a positive role model as you lead them on to a positive path. Every day you will advocate for your trainees, stopping at nothing to find them the right fit within the world of hospitality.

The right person for the role will be highly organised, passionate and full of energy. You will work with a variety of different people and personalities daily and will always be ready to adapt to offer the optimum training & mentoring experience for our clients. Our employability groups will range from people working towards their first job to those simply looking to upskill in their current role but no matter their reason for joining the course, they will be met with the same level of enthusiasm and support

Key elements of the role include:

* Working closely with the programme manager to deliver action packed training programmes suited to all ages
* Leading employability focussed training sessions such as CV building and interview skills
* 121 coaching and mentoring of trainees and creating detailed action plans
* Managing challenging behaviour and other barriers to create a positive learning environment
* Daily icebreakers and team building activities
* Advocating for trainees within the local hospitality industry, creating employer partnerships and setting up work experience
* Tracking trainee journey on appropriate council platforms
* Celebrating trainee success
* Providing a supportive and reactive aftercare service
* Previous experience working with young people from the care system
* Hands on experience work with groups with additional support needs
* Experienced working with challenging behaviour

Desired Skills/Experience:

* Confident and charismatic - you are a natural leader always ready for action!
* Experience working in employability
* Highly organised and driven to succeed
* IT competent - training will be provided on required platforms but basic skills will be required
* Experience in group training
* Hospitality experience in any role (preferred but not essential)
* Patience and determination. Our trainees may require varying levels of support and guidance and it is essential that you provide an equal level of service regardless of barriers
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
* Access to own transport & full clean drivers licence (preferred but not essential)

This is a regional role covering the Central Belt in Scotland. Further details of the role and it’s expectations will be provided at interview stage. The successful person must join the PVG scheme (or provide PVG details if already a member) and offer will be subject to a reference check.

On target earnings for £28,000 per annum

Full time, fixed term until 31st March 2026, subject to renewal
