Job description Due to our catering manager going on maternity leave, we are seeking to appoint an individual to manage our very busy primary school kitchen. Duties will include staff management, planning well-balanced and nutritional menus and the ordering of ingredients in line with health and safety and hygiene compliance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a member of a fantastic and inclusive school benefitting from supportive and enthusiastic staff. The successful candidate will: • have experience of working as a catering manager or cook, ideally in a school setting. • have experience of managing a team. • be organised and work in a fast-paced environment. • manage the ordering of ingredients ensuring best value. • maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen, before, during and after service. • have experience in compliance and adhering to food guidance and standards. • have a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or NVQ in Catering, Level 2 or willingness to undertake Basic Food Hygiene.
