Overview
The role of Cook will require you to ensure that nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for our residents. You will have a caring nature and a positive attitude, showing a desire to deliver the best possible standards for residents in our care. You will be an energetic, friendly team player with good organisation and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure effectively. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to residents with varying needs, tastes and dietary requirements.
Responsibilities
* Ensure nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for residents.
* Demonstrate a caring approach to residents and deliver high standards of service and meals for residents in our care.
* Be an energetic, friendly team player with good organisation and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Demonstrate compassion and empathy in catering for residents with varying needs, tastes and dietary requirements.
Qualifications
* Ideal candidates will have previous residential home or hotel experience with the ability to prepare meals for 50 or more residents.
* Be dependable and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the home.
* Willingness to work towards achievement of at least Catering (C&G) or NVQ 3.
* Qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid are desirable.
About Millbrook House
Millbrook House is a Nursing home catering for up to 60 residents. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.
