Site Manager | Salford / Manchester based Projects Freelance or perm role depending on person Site Manager Location: Salford Quays Sector: Education Construction (New Build & Refurbishment) The Opportunity Were recruiting an experienced Site Manager to deliver new-build and refurbishment education projects in the Salford Quays area. Youll take full ownership of site operations on well-structured schemes with an established delivery team and strong regional pipeline. The Role Lead day-to-day site delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to quality standards while coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Planning & Delivery: manage site operations; ensure compliance with drawings/spec; plan materials/plant; resolve coordination issues; monitor short-term programmes. Health & Safety: inductions; RAMS; PPE; toolbox talks; incident/near-miss management. Site Team: supervise labour/subcontractors; allocate work; track productivity; mentor staff. Quality: inspections; defects; RFIs; statutory/Building Control coordination; photo records. Commercial: monitor costs with QS; reduce waste; identify variations; plan procurement. Materials & Plant: manage materials; storage; plant hire/off-hire; condition records. Reporting: site diaries; weekly updates; permits; digital files. Stakeholders: lead meetings; manage expectations; main site contact; record visits. Environmental & Digital: environmental controls; waste management; use project systems. What Were Looking For Proven Site Manager experience; new-build/refurb (education ideal); strong programme & subcontractor management; H&S and documentation knowledge; commercial awareness; IT-literate; organised, proactive, hands-on. Salary Up to £55,000 car allowance, pension, holidays Or £300 - £330 per day
