At Pathways Learning Centre, we are looking for enthusiastic and committed Learning Mentors who are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD). This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils at pivotal moments in their education, helping them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop the skills they need for life beyond the classroom.
The role is to work flexibly across key stages, working with individual or a group of students under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher.
What you'll have:
* Creativity in the way you work and able to support students with a range of SEND needs
* Experience of working with students in an educational setting and off site.
* Training and/or experience in specialist social and emotional intervention work such as ELSA, Thrive and therapeutic Mentoring would be an advantage.
* Enthusiasm and commitment to enable students to access the curriculum
* The ability to work in partnership with teachers to facilitate student learning
* The ability to ensure that the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of individual students enhances their learning and life skills
What the school offers its staff About us: Pathways Learning Centre provides short stay education and therapeutic support for students between Key Stage 1 - 4 who are unable to access mainstream provision for a variety of reasons.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic, enthusiastic team, totally committed to supporting meeting the individual needs of students across South Gloucestershire, Bristol and the surrounding area.
