About Our Client
The client is a UK-based engineering and technology business that forms part of a wider international group and is experiencing growth and operational change. They operate across multiple UK sites, deliver major projects, and rely on a mix of permanent employees and specialist contractors.
Job Description
3. Act as the first point of contact for employee relations, including grievances, disciplinaries, capability, and misconduct
4. Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers
5. Support recruitment activity across UK sites
6. Take ownership of contractor management, including onboarding, compliance, documentation, and contract extensions
7. Apply and maintain knowledge of IR35 and contractor compliance
8. Develop and implement processes to track contractor paperwork, expiry dates, and approvals
9. Maintain and utilise HR systems (Workday experience desirable)
10. Support manager development and promote HR self-service
11. Contribute to HR projects aligned to UK and European people strategies
The Successful Applicant
A successful HR Manager should have:
12. Strong experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor
13. Solid employee relations capability, including handling complex cases up to gross misconduct
14. Knowledge of contractor management and IR35 compliance
15. Experience supporting operational, technical, or project-based teams
16. Ability to work autonomously, manage a high workload, and prioritise effectively
17. Practical experience with HR systems, ideally Workday
18. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
19. Collaborative, flexible, and adaptable approach to change
