The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) Programme is a national, licensed, evidence‑based, early‑intervention programme for first‑time mothers up to the age of 25, prioritising those aged 19 or under. It offers intensive and structured home‑visiting, delivered by specially trained nurses, from early pregnancy until the child is 2 years old.
NHS Tayside is looking for an excellent individual to provide compassionate care, leadership and management to the FNP service.
You must have a passion for the FNP philosophy and its strength‑based approach. This post offers the right individual a great opportunity to influence and lead dynamic, child‑centred services and contribute to the ongoing success and development within the Women, Children and Families Division.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the work of 4 family nurses, data managers and the administration team.
* Provide in‑depth clinical, management and child‑protection supervision to family nurses.
* Maintain programme integrity and ensure compliance with licence requirements.
* Take responsibility for quality assurance and improvement.
* Oversee recruitment of eligible pregnant young women and build local relationships.
* Facilitate continual learning and improvement.
* Hold a small caseload of families to whom the programme is delivered.
* Combine clinical practice, strategic leadership, management, supervisory and a teaching role.
Qualifications and Experience
* Post‑registration experience working with children and/or young people in their homes.
* Experience of general community nursing or midwifery home visiting, including structured programme skills.
* First‑level Registered Nurse or Midwife with current UK NMC registration.
* Degree level or equivalent education, with evidence of Masters level education.
* Ability to travel across Tayside and work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0830‑1700.
* Willingness to undertake all mandatory Family Nurse Supervisor training and, where applicable, Family Nurse training events.
Training & Development
* Attend all supervisor training events, including a 2‑night residential training on 17‑19 February 2026.
* Where applicable, attend all Family Nurse training events, including a 4‑night residential training on 9‑13 March 2026.
