Overview
Mitie have a new opportunity! We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Site Cleaning Manager to oversee the operational delivery of janitorial services at the site, building excellent relationships with the client and your team whilst maintaining a high‑quality service output.
Responsibilities
* An understanding of cleaning, waste and forklift truck activities.
* Develop a comprehensive knowledge of site in terms of layout, fit‑out, working hours and operating times in order to create and adapt adequate cleaning schedules.
* Manage all staff on‑site, ensuring a consistent delivery of hours, in‑line with the site budget.
* Administer payroll for hourly paid staff both direct employees and agency in‑line with company procedures and targets.
* Create and promote a positive safety culture on‑site where hazards are proactively recorded and a lessons‑learnt approach taken to limit accidents and incidents.
* Have a thorough understanding of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Control of Substances Hazardous to health.
* Achieve excellent cleaning standards, exceeding client expectations, evidenced through the weekly cleaning standards audit undertaken with the client. Acting upon any potential failings and opportunities for improvement in a timely manner.
* Drive continuous improvements by seeking innovations, identifying efficiencies and negotiating with customers, staff and suppliers.
* Maintain adequate stock levels and place orders as required and within the site budget.
* Ensure all equipment is well cleaned, well‑maintained and safe, as well as it being operated in‑line with the requirements of the site.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
* Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
* Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
* Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
What are we looking for?
* Experience working in a Cleaning/ Healthcare setting.
* Experience in Management, ideally of large teams.
* Someone adaptable, motivated and organised with excellent timekeeping.
* An engaging and enthusiastic personality with staff, clients and stakeholders.
* Commercial awareness with experience of holding budgetary control.
* IOSH Managing Safety or comparable qualification – essential, or willingness to complete within first month of employment.
* Must be able to complete a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service check.
