Location: Office-Based (Full-Time) Industry: Renewable Energy – Solar Reporting To: Managing Director About the Role We are seeking an experienced HR Manager with a strong background working within a Renewable Energy EPC contractor, ideally with significant exposure to utility-scale solar projects. This is a fully office-based position requiring a commercially aware HR professional who understands the pace, structure and operational demands of solar project delivery, along with the importance of structured internal recruitment in supporting multi-site EPC programmes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and developing the company’s HR function while leading the recruitment of key project delivery personnel across multiple live and upcoming solar developments. Role & Responsibilities You will take overall responsibility for HR leadership and compliance across the business, ensuring full alignment with UK employment legislation and industry standards. This will include managing contracts, onboarding and offboarding processes, employee documentation, Right to Work compliance, and maintaining robust personnel records. You will support directors with employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary matters, while developing and refining HR policies and procedures suited to an EPC delivery environment. Workforce planning aligned to live projects and future mobilisation schedules will form a key part of the role. A critical element of this position is internal recruitment within a solar EPC environment. You must have demonstrable experience sourcing and appointing project-critical roles including Project Managers, Electrical and Mechanical Managers, Site Managers, QA/QC personnel, HSE Managers, Commissioning Engineers, and other senior site-based staff. You will be responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle — from advertising and headhunting through to interviewing, offer negotiation, and mobilisation — ensuring project teams are built in line with programme requirements. Close collaboration with operational directors to forecast staffing needs and build sustainable talent pipelines will be essential. Required Experience The successful candidate will have proven HR management experience within a Renewable Energy or Solar EPC contractor. You will have a clear understanding of the solar project lifecycle and EPC delivery structure, alongside a strong track record of recruiting key project delivery personnel internally. You should demonstrate solid knowledge of UK employment law, experience supporting multi-site project environments, and possess strong commercial awareness to support a growing, project-led business. Personal Profile We are looking for a highly organised and process-driven individual who is commercially astute and confident working with senior operational personnel. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced EPC environment and be a strong communicator, capable of building trusted relationships across all levels of the business. Desirable CIPD qualification and previous experience supporting the scale-up of an EPC or renewable energy business would be advantageous.
