The role
You’ll sit at the heart of food safety, quality, and supplier performance, making sure products are safe, compliant, consistent, and ready for market. It’s a hands-on, varied role where you’ll be closely involved in both day-to-day technical management and product development activity.
Key responsibilities
Support supplier onboarding and ongoing compliance management
Investigate complaints and out-of-spec results, identifying root cause and driving corrective action
Work with suppliers to improve product quality and reduce recurring issues
Oversee product testing, shelf-life validation, and sensory assessments
Support NPD/EPD projects from concept through to launch, including trials and first productions
Write and maintain accurate product specifications
Review and approve packaging artwork and labelling for compliance and brand alignment
About you
Experience in a food technical / quality / food safety role within FMCG or food manufacturing/retail
Confident managing suppliers and handling technical investigations
Strong understanding of food safety standards (BRCGS experience desirable)
Experience supporting NPD in a fast-paced environment
Detail-focused, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally
