We're looking for an experienced Automation Developer with strong Automation Anywhere skills to join a leading defence and technology organisation on a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to rebuild, enhance and deliver high-impact automation solutions as part of a growing Automation team.
The Role As an Automation Developer, you'll design and deliver end-to-end RPA solutions using Automation Anywhere, working closely with Solution Architects and stakeholders across the business. You'll play a key role in rebuilding existing automations, shaping technical documentation, and driving solutions through testing and implementation.
This role is primarily remote, with site visits to Preston every 6–8 weeks .
What You'll Be Doing Rebuilding and enhancing automation processes using Automation Anywhere
Creating and maintaining Solution Design Documents (SDDs)
Designing, developing and testing RPA solutions using industry best practice
Working within Agile frameworks to maximise delivery outcomes
Supporting change management and production readiness cycles
Collaborating with architects and project teams to plan and refine development approaches
What We're Looking For Essential:
Accredited Automation Anywhere Developer
Proven experience building and implementing RPA solutions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret workflow diagrams and translate them into automated solutions
Excellent communication skills, including presenting technical detail to non-technical audiences
Strong knowledge of Excel (including macros), Microsoft Office, and development lifecycle methodologies
High attention to detail and the ability to work methodically
Desirable:
Experience providing consultancy to senior stakeholders
Experience in quality assurance, problem analysis and solution design
