A Director of Sales manages the hotel sales and marketing plans by recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the hotel is competitively positioned within the local marketplace.
What will I be doing?
As Director of Sales, you are responsible for working closely with the Senior Management Team to drive business needs and expand existing business through promotional efforts and sales channels. A Director of Sales will work to develop the sales group and groom a high-performing sales team. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
1. Manage hotel sales and marketing plans to ensure they accurately interpret and support the objectives of the business and focus sales efforts across all market segments.
2. Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to identify and support key business elements requiring additional focus.
3. Prepare hotel contracts aligned with current business and pricing conditions.
4. Monitor offers, options, and discounts for repeat bookings, including groups, congresses, and seminars, in coordination with the Group Coordinator.
5. Develop the group sales team through leadership, participation in hiring, and fostering their success.
6. Oversee and manage the forecasting process with the Revenue Department to ensure accuracy and timeliness; prepare relevant reports such as the annual and monthly forecasts, Lead Management System, and Booking Reports.
7. Participate in the development and execution of the annual Sales and Market Plan, quarterly updates, and hotel budgets; implement strategies to adapt to market or competitive changes.
8. Contribute to the development of sales and marketing initiatives by recommending and monitoring local activities.
9. Organize comprehensive information about the hotel's products and services, and distribute this through relevant sales channels to attract potential Guests.
10. Produce timely and accurate reports to meet management needs.
11. Present monthly updates on sales activities and contributions to hotel owners and senior management.
12. Collaborate with other departments like Reservations and Banqueting to enhance Guest experiences and develop sales programs.
13. Participate in management meetings to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies.
