Wolfson College – a research‑led, inclusive and close‑knit community and part of the University of Oxford – is seeking a proactive and organised HR Officer to play a key role in delivering a professional, responsive and high-quality HR service across the College.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading end‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding, working closely with managers to attract and appoint high‑quality candidates.
* Providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on policies, procedures and employee relations matters.
* Delivering a professional, efficient and confidential HR administration service, including contracts, payroll liaison and record‑keeping.
* Supporting learning and development initiatives, including organising and potentially delivering training.
* Administering employee benefits and monitoring right‑to‑work expiry dates and fixed‑term contract end dates.
* Producing and disseminating information and documents for the annual appraisal process.
* Contributing to HR projects and the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
* Ensuring compliance with employment law, GDPR and best practice at all times.
Skills and Experience
* Good general education with CIPD part qualification or equivalent experience.
* Solid HR generalist experience in an administrative or advisory capacity.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law, statutory requirements and HR best practice.
* Sufficient experience in running the recruitment and induction process from start to finish.
* Excellent administrative, organisational and IT skills, with strong attention to detail.
* The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
* A discreet and professional approach when handling sensitive information.
* Good working knowledge of relevant data protection and health and safety regulations.
* A collaborative, flexible and proactive mindset, with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

Salary: Starting at £35,318 per annum, which includes a basic salary of £33,588 per annum and Oxford Weighting of £1,730 per annum.
