Site Manager Heavy Civils
Location: M23 Corridor (Surrey / Sussex)
JLL Recruitment are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee heavy civil engineering projects across the M23 corridor. This is an opportunity to join a long-established contractor with a proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure schemes, including coastal defence, flood alleviation, water treatment, and major groundworks. Known for tackling technically challenging projects, they have built a reputation for reliability, sustainability, and strong client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workplace.
* Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation and site rules.
* Develop and update Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Waste Management Plans.
* Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, and promote a strong safety culture.
* Produce method statements, risk assessments, lift plans, and inspection/test plans.
* Manage subcontractors, procurement schedules, and contractual paperwork (variations, CTQs, Early Warnings, CEs).
* Update programmes weekly with planners, integrating subcontractor work and highlighting delays.
* Coordinate client inspections, handovers, and project close-out reports.
* Engage with residents, landowners, and utility companies to agree methods and timings of works.
* Motivate and manage site teams, delegating responsibilities, and promoting collaboration.
Candidate Profile
* Strong knowledge of heavy civils techniques, groundworks, and infrastructure delivery.
* Proven ability to manage site safety, compliance, and environmental responsibilities.
* Experience in subcontractor management, procurement, and contractual paperwork.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* CSCS Manager or Academically Qualified card required.
* Full driving licence.
