The Opportunity
Having won a new on-going contract (minimum 5 years with huge potential for further extensions) we are now in the next phase of growth and development. This post will see you drive and develop the team around you whilst ensuring the designated project stays on target for completion and within budget. Naturally a background within fresh/wastewater is required but this opportunity will see you taking control and implementing best practice/new ideas to streamline efficiencies.
The Role
Ultimately, this opportunity focuses on leading skilled labour crews through the civil works aspect of this project, optimising resources and building training plans for the wider team. With excellent working relationships, and quality communication skills you will produce concise method statements and procedures to influence the efficiency of processes throughout the project.
Further responsibilities include:
* Ensure works are programmed in advance, matching with contract deadlines
* Using working knowledge of Civil Engineering to read and interpret drawings
* Compliance with all statutory requirements connected to implementation of projects, including promoting health and safety to reduce risk and injury
* Regularly engage the team to increase productivity throughout the project
* Record keeping, tracking progress made and completion of action lists
* Successfully manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships, relaying programme information to relevant individuals
Our Ideal Candidate
Organisational and team leadership skills are paramount to the success of this role. Our ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in working with waste/freshwater utilities/infrastructure and a passion for improving overall project performance. This position is best suited to an output driven individual with experience coordinating and supervising multi-site civil projects.
Further to the above:
* Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation
* Technically proficient in Microsoft Office
* Familiar with HS&E and QA/QC procedures and regulations, with the ability to enforce these with the workforce under your responsibility to ensure utmost safety and efficiency
* Confident motivating a construction team, and providing essential toolbox talks
* Have a range of additional qualifications including; SMSTS, CSCS Site Manager, Environmental training, First Aid, EUSR Certificate, Confined Spaces, Lift Supervisor, Cat and Genny, and NRASWA
