Purpose of the role To support the preparation of simple, nutritious meals and engage residents in cooking-related activities, promoting social interaction, independence, and wellbeing. Main responsibilities Assist with preparing and cooking meals/snacks Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment Follow food hygiene and safety guidelines Engage residents in cooking activities (where appropriate) Encourage conversation and social interaction during meal preparation Support with serving food if required. Skills, experience and attitude needed Basic cooking skills (no professional experience required) Understanding of hygiene and food safety (training can be provided) Friendly, patient, and approachable Enjoy working with people and encouraging participation Reliable and able to follow guidance Expected hours/times As and when required though we will work around the availability of volunteers.
