Labourer / De-burrer / Etcher
Location: Oldham, Manchester
Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday: 07:45 – 16:30 - Friday: 07:45 – 12:45
An established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Labourer / De-burrer / Etcher to support its production team. This is a key shop-floor role responsible for finishing machined components to a high standard, ensuring product quality, traceability, and supporting general production activities to meet delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities for this Labourer role:
Remove burrs and sharp edges from machined components using hand tools, files, and grinders
Carry out polishing, fettling, and finishing of engineered parts
Etch components with unique identification numbers to ensure full traceability
Complete general labouring duties, including emptying swarf bins and maintaining a clean workspace
Support the production team with ad hoc tasks to ensure workflow efficiency
Follow production plans to help meet output and delivery targets
Accurately update job status using the company ERP system
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeepingSkills & Experience for this Labourer role:
Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, and finishing processes
Basic understanding of engineering drawings (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
Basic computer literacyWorking Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 07:45 – 16:30
Friday: 07:45 – 12:45
