Quality Manager
We are working with our high volume manufacturing business client based on the outskirts of Norwich. They have a new opportunity for a Quality Manager to join their team, the successful candidate will have significant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with experience of working in Quality Assurance and Quality Control at management level as well as knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing
Role Summary:
* To ensure products and services meet the requirements of the certified Quality Management System (QMS)and Product approvals are maintained
* Maintain certification of the QMS and applicable product accreditations
* To assist in the development and deployment of the Quality Strategy for the group
* Contribute to the creation and implementation of group best practice quality vision, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
* Have responsibility for the Implementation and effectiveness of the Group Quality Management System with support from the Senior Management Team
* Manage and lead the Sites Quality & C.I Teams on Projects.
Minimum Qualification/Skills/Experience Requirements
Significant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably fenestration
Experience of working in Quality Assurance and Quality Control at management level
Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing knowledge/skills advantageous
Experience of dealing with Internal and external customers and suppliers
Key Areas/Responsibilities:
Adhering and promoting Group Health, Safety & Environment Policies and Practices
Act as the authority on all Quality aspects
Continuous and consistent development, implementation and maintenance of to enhance product & service quality and increasing customer satisfaction
Ensuring provisions for staff training and compliance with the requirements of the QMS are available
Responsible for ensuring the planning and execution of product & QMS internal audit programme
Documenting and controlling containment, correction, corrective and preventive actions related to non-conforming outputs
Investigation of customer claims
Development of the QMS in line with the company strategy and framework requirement
Gathering and analysing of data for communication to the business
Identification of risks and opportunities in the QMS that may affect safety, customers, and the company strategy & achievement of objectives
Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture
Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
Train others in all aspects of the QMS and application of procedures
Undertake product and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Design and implement Control Plans
Management of the internal teams in the sign-off of parts and the resolution of internal/external quality concerns
Responsible for establishing and maintenance of quality records, instructions, standards and documentation
Lead regular meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving quality / operational KPI’s associated to the business.
In conjunction with the Procurement function, reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier materials provided by 3rd parties
Produce written reports and perform presentations
Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation
Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver quality, including the engagement of external resources as required
Set quality & department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall strategic plan, ensuring this is communicated to the team
Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
People Management
* Manage, coach and develop a high performing Quality Team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
* Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels
* Motivate and coach the team to operational success
* Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
* Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them
* Provide technical expertise to the team
* Manage absences, holidays and expenses etc.
Financial and Budget Control
* Responsible for achieving budget and forecast
