What you’ll do:
This role will encompass responsibility for Eaton MEDC Quality Assurance and Quality Control to ensure both consistent quality of products manufactured and processes undertaken. The role requires the ability to define and implement the key quality processes needed to fundamentally improve and control internal and external quality, and also manage compliance with environmental and health & safety legislation and regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure that all documentation and procedural compliance, regulation and legislation detail is properly reported, communicated and audited.
* Investigate, report and communicate company quality performance from internal and external quality issues to customer non‑conformance.
* Champion the quality function and quality improvement business‑wide.
* Define measurable criteria to form a factual based approach to quality reporting and improvements.
* Continually assess and refine the company’s quality processes to ensure ongoing best practice and ISO compliance.
* Apply analytical/statistical tools & methods: 8D, Pareto, histogram, scatter plot, 5‑why, cause‑effect diagram, error‑proofing, variation analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Design for Experiments (DOE); expert in problem solving, root cause analysis and associated methodologies.
* Maintain in‑depth knowledge of international and customer‑specific quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS16949) and lead compliance assessments.
* Understand inspection and testing systems, and validate acceptability of an inspection system (e.g., Accuracy – Linearity / Bias Study, Precision – Gage R&R).
* Utilise Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and tools (DFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Capability, Run‑at‑Rate, etc.).
* Lead quality strategic planning and deployment activities and communicate a future‑state vision of quality systems and performance.
* Participate actively in decision‑gate reviews as part of an APQP‑based New Product Development process.
* Identify projects for quality continuous improvement to reduce scraps, reworks, and warranty costs.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
* Ideally degree‑educated; alternatively, qualified through relevant experience.
Skills and Experience:
* Practical problem‑solving approach with experience applying quality investigation tools.
* Facilitation and application of G8D problem‑solving methodology.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
* Excellent PC skills.
* Quality Management System management experience.
* SAP experience.
* Ability to liaise with customers and suppliers across the supply chain.
* Ability to drive process change and quality system development in a demanding environment.
* Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
* Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
