We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Human Resources practitioner to join our People Services team and support the effective delivery of high-quality HR services across the organisation. This role plays an important part in ensuring fair, effective and legally compliant HR practices that support the organisation in achieving its priorities.
This is a generalist HR role, offering the opportunity to work across a wide range of people management issues within a local government environment. You will manage a diverse caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, attendance and performance management. In addition, you will provide comprehensive HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on wider HR activity, including local and national terms and conditions of service, recruitment and selection and equality, diversity and inclusion.
You will also support senior colleagues with organisational change activity and service improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous development of HR practices across the organisation.
We are looking for a proactive, customer-focused HR professional with strong communication skills and the confidence to advise and influence managers at all levels. You will be skilled in building effective working relationships with managers and trade unions, working constructively to support positive and productive employee relations.
The role is varied and challenging and requires excellent organisational and problem solving skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A relevant professional qualification at degree level and/or demonstrable experience at a comparable level within a related professional field of expertise is an essential requirement for this role.
