Sue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a highly respected business within the fuel and energy industry, to recruit a Fuel Card Sales Executive for a full-time, permanent position.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company that supplies fuel card services and bulk solid fuel to a wide range of clients—from independent traders to large national organisations, as well as residential and commercial customers including off-grid homes, festivals, and hospitals. Based in the Sheffield office, you will be joining a supportive team and will be responsible for generating your own leads, converting prospects into long-term customers, and managing ongoing relationships. The company offers a unique commission structure where you continue to earn commission every time your client uses their fuel card—creating excellent long-term earning potential.
Key Responsibilities for the Sales Executive (Fuel Card) role:
* Sell fuel card services to businesses of all sizes, from sole traders to national corporations
* Support existing clients and assist with pricing and account management
* All leads are self-generated – you can target businesses nationwide
* Conduct cold calls, follow up with proposals, and analyse fuel bills
* Maintain accurate records on our bespoke system (training provided)
* Collaborate with the wider sales team and attend a quarterly sales meeting in Essex, including overnight stay and team social events (expenses covered)
* Fully office-based in Sheffield – professional presentation required for both in-person and virtual meetings
Candidate Requirements for the Sales Executive (Fuel Card) role:
* Previous sales experience with a strong track record in lead generation and closing deals
* Excellent phone manner and written communication skills
* Resilience, self-motivation, and an eagerness to learn – fuel prices change daily, and the market is fast-moving
* Comfortable with IT and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
* A smart, professional appearance and a team-focused attitude
* Full UK Driving Licence (for occasional travel)
Training will be provided on the company's bespoke CRM and pricing systems. This is a fully office-based role with strong progression opportunities, including the potential to lead your own branch as the company continues to expand.
What’s on Offer for the Sales Executive (Fuel Card) role:
* £32,000–£34,000 basic salary (based on experience)
* Uncapped commission – earn 10% of gross profit on every deal
* Recurring commission – once a customer signs up, you earn commission every time they use their card
* Ongoing training and support with real progression opportunities
* Quarterly team meet-ups in Essex – build connections across all offices
