A well‑established FMCG manufacturing organisation in the Chester area is seeking a hands‑on Quality Manager to take ownership of its quality function and implement a full Quality Management System (QMS) from scratch.
This is a unique opportunity to shape, define and elevate the quality agenda within a growing business that supplies products intended for indirect and direct contact with food-requiring rigorous compliance standards and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a full Quality Management System (QMS) tailored to a fast‑moving manufacturing environment.
Lead and manage all quality, compliance, and audit processes across the site.
Ensure products meet food‑contact material safety requirements, including applicable legislation, hygiene protocols, and documentation standards.
Create and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, SOPs, and factory‑floor quality controls.
Drive site-wide quality culture, delivering training, coaching, and clear standards for operational teams.
Lead non‑conformance investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Partner with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to embed quality into every stage of the manufacturing process.
Manage customer complaints, product release processes, and quality reporting.
Prepare the site for external audits and certification as required.About You
Proven experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Lead, or similar role within FMCG, ideally packaging, or food‑related manufacturing.
Strong understanding of food-contact compliance, hygiene standards, and regulatory requirements with knowledge of HACCP and hygiene regulations.
Proven experience with BRC, ISO, SMETA, and leading audits.
Demonstrated ability to build or overhaul a QMS from the ground up-not just maintain an existing system.
Confident in leading site-wide quality transformation and influencing cross-functional teams.
Experienced in root‑cause analysis, continuous improvement techniques, and data-driven decision-making.
