SGS is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Internal Sales Executive to join our dynamic team in Shepton Mallet. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in sales within a fast-paced, B2B environment
This Internal Sales position is focused on driving business growth by supporting the external sales team. You'll play a key role in identifying, researching, and generating new leads, as well as maintaining and expanding relationships
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead Generation & Prospecting: Proactively call and email potential clients, uncover new opportunities, and raise awareness of SGS solutions.
* Market Intelligence: Conduct competitor analysis and monitor industry trends to help shape our strategy.
* Customer Support: Handle inbound enquiries via phone, email, Teams, and chatbot.
* Sales Support: Create quotes and proposals, progress leads, and coordinate meetings for the sales team.
* CRM Management: Maintain and update client records, monitor contract performance, and report on activity using Salesforce.
* Client Development: Re-engage lapsed clients and explore opportunities within existing accounts.
* Administrative Duties: Assist with onboarding, document management, and invoice/payment queries.

Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
* Confident cold caller and natural lead generator
* Strong commercial awareness and customer service mindset
* Previous experience in a phone-based, B2B technical or logistics environment
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
* Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
Desirable
* Background in customs, logistics, or related technical services
* Experience working with measurable performance targets
* Customer service or sales administration qualification
