As a line cook/teaching assistant, you will play a key part in supporting the Bistro service leader in the running of the college refectory. You will assist with the production of food and support the teaching of the Level 1-3 Programmes to students, creating a realistic working environment to help students understand the catering world.
You will:
1. Lead on cooking duties linked to the college refectory, including planning, preparing, and initiating the menu.
2. Support the delivery of culinary teaching programmes.
3. Create a real working environment through the effective and efficient running of the college refectory.
4. Support the curriculum team in activities that ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, in line with the standards of a working kitchen in both training and refectory areas.
Requirements:
* Level 2 qualification in the subject area, including cookery.
* Coaching and mentoring qualifications or willingness to work towards them.
* Experience working in an educational setting.

Salary: £18,463 Actual (£22,245 FTE). This is a permanent position based in Newbury, with 37 hours per week over 38 weeks per year, subject to change to include August working.
