A leading consultancy is looking for a pragmatic, detail-oriented, and highly experienced Lead Enterprise Data Architect to join its expanding Data & Intelligence practice. This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise across multiple industries, skilled in developing conceptual and logical data models, designing architectural frameworks, and shaping high-level operating models and governance standards for enterprise-wide Data Architecture.
The Lead Enterprise Data Architect will act as a trusted advisor to clients, defining how data integrates with broader business and technology architectures. Collaborating with data professionals, engineers, and operational experts, this role requires a strong ability to translate business needs into scalable, future-ready data solutions.
Although technology agnostic, the position demands experience in vendor assessments, as well as working alongside Data Solution Architects responsible for implementing physical architecture layers and detailed data models. The successful candidate will share a passion for driving data-driven business transformation, fostering innovation, and delivering measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Shape go-to-market propositions and services in Data Architecture.
Support client partners and practice leads with pre-sales activities.
Deliver end-to-end Data Architecture projects across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Define, develop, and manage data models and frameworks.
Lead and mentor architecture teams, including onshore, nearshore, and offshore resources.
Align business, technology, and data architectures to deliver strategic outcomes.
Engage directly with clients across multiple sectors, including telecoms, media, banking, insurance, public sector, manufacturing, automotive, energy & utilities, and retail.
Stay current with emerging Data Architecture practices and ensure knowledge transfer within the wider Data & Intelligence community.
Experience & Skills Required Proven expertise in defining and managing enterprise data architectures in large, complex organisations.
Strong background in data modelling and reference data architectures.
Proficiency with leading tools such as Sparx, Erwin, and Archi.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to develop and articulate architectural visions while demonstrating core consulting values.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technology and business.
Experience delivering consulting-led sales and supporting pre-sales activities.
Industry expertise across telecoms, media, banking, insurance, public sector, manufacturing, automotive, retail, or energy & utilities.
Hands-on knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or Information Technology (preferred).
