Grade 8 up to £ 62,728 per annum, pro rata if part time. Please note: this role is currently subject to an additional market supplement taking the maximum salary to £79,084 until December 2026, when it will be reviewed.

University of Sussex has an exciting strategy over the next decade, and this is your opportunity to help shape and deliver a new data-focused future for our researchers, students and staff.
As a Data Architect you will be working across our project portfolios and initiatives to help people structure and use data more effectively, unlocking the value in the data to benefit the organisation. You will continue work to build out models, standards and products, build on plans to advance our data-related, reporting and analytic technologies, including use of AI, and support projects around data migration and integration efforts.
You will be working with colleagues in IT Services and across the wider University, including stakeholders at a variety of levels. There will also be opportunities to be involved in the development of data-related initiatives aligned with the Sussex 2035 strategy.
About you
You will come with demonstrable experience of working as a Data Architect (or similar role), with excellent knowledge and understanding of data and data-related solutions, models and approaches.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build a network of data-minded professionals across the University. You will also have relevant experience in data processing, reporting and analytics tools.
Working knowledge of Archimate, BPMN, DMN, TOGAF and other architecture / process related standards would be helpful, as would experience of modelling tools.
