The position
We are currently recruiting a Global Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join our team. We are looking for an experienced HSE manager to take the next step of building a professional health and safety system. In this global role you will be in the frontline, ensuring our colleagues’ safety and compliance with national, industry and customer-specific requirements.
You will be asked to build on your experience and existing expertise on HSE methodology and principles to design a reliable HSE management system. Your top priority will be to set up such a system, including processes and documentation to ensure that the procedures we follow permit a safe working environment. You will also be managing the global ISO certification, by implementing processes and documents to comply with various working safety and quality standards. For this position occasional on-sites visits in the UK as well as internationally can be expected.
Primary responsibilities
1. Design, build and maintain a professional HSE system on a global scale
2. Liaise with customers to ensure their expectations and needs regarding documentation and administrative support for project work/tendering are met
3. Create and maintain documentation for health and safety, quality and environmental requirements relating to field-based work
4. Help our teams in identifying any training requirements and implement and coordinate such required trainings
5. Ensure that the engineers and technicians in the field have the appropriate certifications and paperwork required to work safely and remain compliant to the high-quality standards we set to ourselves and all our customers.
6. Identify and follow industry standards relating to safe working in harsh environments, advise on best practice
7. Manage the global ISO certification
8. Identify lack of Safety, Health, Quality, Certification and Environment trainings, implement, and manage them
Professional qualifications
9. Proven experience in Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, Environment Management role or similar in a medium to large international organization or professional body
10. Experience from the civil, rail, oil and gas or renewable industry is desired
11. Proven track of generated HSE documentation is desired
12. Membership of or certification by a professional body, such as NEBOSH diploma or IOSH membership or the like is a plus but not a requirement
13. Strong commercial understanding, as well as passion for (process) documentation and compliance
14. Strong written and oral communication skills
15. Any additional European language is a plus
