Senior Front‑End Software Engineer | Hybrid - 3 days on site | Salary DOE

The Opportunity:
This is a senior individual contributor role offering the opportunity to shape front‑end architecture, influence engineering standards, and play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences at scale.
You will be working on a modern MACH-based digital platform (Microservices, API‑first, Cloud‑Native, Headless), supporting a large portfolio of websites and mobile applications. This environment is built for engineers passionate about performance, scalability, and clean, maintainable front‑end architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive front‑end architecture decisions including component design, state management, and application structure
* Build and deliver complex front‑end solutions using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
* Contribute to shared design systems and front‑end standards across multiple brands and teams
* Partner with Product, Design, and Content teams from discovery through to delivery
* Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, and collaborative development
* Own critical customer journeys, ensuring high standards of performance, accessibility, and usability
* Work with GraphQL and REST APIs, with exposure to Node.js services where required
* Champion best practices across code quality, testing, performance optimisation, and security
* Identify opportunities to improve developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and delivery processes
Required Experience:
* Strong commercial experience as a Senior Front‑End engineer in large‑scale environments
* Deep experience with React and Next.js (or similar modern frameworks)
* Proven experience mentoring engineers and supporting team growth
* Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design
* Experience across the full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automation
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally
* Experience with MACH or composable commerce architectures
* Knowledge of Core Web Vitals and front‑end performance monitoring
* Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and Infrastructure as Code
* Exposure to distributed or event‑driven systems
* A DevOps mindset and experience working in containerised environments
