HR Administrator (Fixed Term) – University of Cambridge, Sainsbury Laboratory, Cambridge, England
Role Overview
We are looking to recruit an HR Administrator to join our small team at the Sainsbury Laboratory of Cambridge University.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform general HR administration duties using the University's HR information systems.
* Coordinate the appraisal process.
* Act as the first point of contact for HR‑related queries, such as advising on holiday entitlement and sick leave processes.
* Support recruitment: advise on the recruitment process, set up interviews, obtain references, prepare documentation, and carry out right‑to‑work checks.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum education to A‑level standard/NVQ level 3 or equivalent practical experience.
* Previous HR or general administrative experience in a large organisation.
* Strong team player, proactive, self‑motivated, able to work independently and prioritise workload.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, solution‑oriented, and detail‑focused.
* Competent in standard IT packages including Microsoft Office.
* Willingness to learn, knowledge of HR principles ideally in an educational setting.
* Experience with the University's HR systems highly desirable.
