Quality Manager
Location: Lechlade, Gloucestershire

This is an exciting opportunity to support the continuous growth of our client by leading, developing, and continuously improving the Quality Department. The role involves a 6-month transition period working alongside the current Quality Manager, before taking full responsibility for Quality and Assurance across the site and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
The successful applicant will be part of the Site Management Team and will play a key role in the site's daily and weekly operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and be accountable for the Quality Team (3 direct reports), including performance management, professional development, and fostering a high-performance team culture (post handover).
* Oversee all aspects of Site Quality and Assurance.
* Collaborate with Operations and Site Management to align quality objectives with business goals and develop strategies to reduce costs related to poor quality and improve operational efficiencies.
* Conduct internal, external, and customer audits according to certification standards and uphold high-quality standards.
* Develop and track improvement and corrective action plans, ensuring effective communication.
* Lead and train teams in developing effective corrective and preventive actions using 8D and Mistake Proofing techniques in response to customer concerns and audit findings.
* Facilitate continuous improvement projects and initiatives to support company goals.
* Drive cultural change using tools and methodologies such as PDCA, Six Sigma, Mistake Proofing, and Kaizen.
* Utilize strong interpersonal skills to communicate and promote COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) improvements across functions and levels.
* Contribute to site engagement and people initiatives.
* Promote health and safety standards, raising hazards and seeking safety improvements.
* Perform other reasonable management tasks as required.
Requirements:
* Proven track record in a similar role or relevant professional development to step into a Quality Manager position.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Self-motivated with proactive work ethic in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience with Quality Management Systems in Aerospace and Defence sectors.
* Experience managing an AS9100 audit.
* Knowledge of NADCAP is advantageous but not essential.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
* Enthusiastic and positive, with a record of delivering improvements.
* Project and Change Management skills are desirable.
* Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
