* Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Role and responsibilities:
We are currently collaborating with a forward-thinking mainstream Primary School with an on-site provision dedicated to serving children with complex and additional needs. This presents a unique chance to gain insight into the future of Specialist provisions within mainstream settings and their operational frameworks.
The school runs a 15-week SEMH program aimed at retaining students in a mainstream setting rather than transitioning to a specialist provision. The role involves working with small groups of students and on a 1:1 basis, either within the provision or the classroom.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to support children who have had challenging starts in life. Experience supporting students with complex needs is essential. The ability to engage positively and de-escalate children effectively is crucial for success in this role.
The school will provide support and further training; however, a solid background in similar work is required.
