We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to support and oversee day-to-day operations on a National Grid (NG) Project SR163, working within high voltage substations ranging from 66kV to 400kV. The role involves ensuring strict compliance with quality standards and safety regulations specific to high voltage environments. You will work closely with the lead to manage site operations, review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Construction Phase Plans (CPP), and conduct site inspections to maintain compliance. Supporting the technical design and delivery aspects, you will also assist with performance monitoring and coordinate required outages and handovers. This position requires a strong understanding of National Grid procedures and authorisations, with a focus on maintaining operational excellence and safety in a high voltage substation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the lead Site Manager with daily site operations and management.
Review and ensure compliance of RAMS, CPP, and conduct regular site inspections.
Assist with technical design and delivery aspects of the project.
Monitor site performance and progress against programme requirements.
Support planned outages and handover processes.
Maintain adherence to National Grid safety and quality standards for HV substations (66kV to 400kV).
Skills:
Proven experience in a Site Manager role on National Grid SR163 projects.
Strong knowledge of high voltage substations (66kV to 400kV).
Ability to review and interpret RAMS and CPP documentation.
Competent in conducting site inspections and compliance audits.
Understanding of technical design and delivery in HV environments.
Performance monitoring and reporting skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in HV substations.
Ability to manage outages and handover procedures effectively.
Software/Tools:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Project management and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) - desirable
Certifications & Standards:
National Grid SR163 authorisation (essential)
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - desirable
Relevant health and safety certifications related to high voltage environments
Role is based in North Hyde, West London and is a 6 month contract
