Job Description
Location: Derby – Hybrid (3 days per week on client site)
Contract Role: 6 months contract (Potential for extension) Inside IR35 (via umbrella company).
Two Quality Managers are urgently required to support a major client within their Infrastructure Design Authority team. You will ensure quality activities are planned, implemented and aligned with the Client Quality Policy, delivering both Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) across the full project lifecycle
Your Missions
️ Assure effective quality management systems that meet stakeholder and customer requirements.
Lead improvements to Operating, Management and Supplier Quality Systems (GS3001) to reduce risk and waste.
Communicate and implement Quality Programme requirements across on-site and off-site activities.
Promote a strong quality culture through stakeholder engagement and communication.
Monitor and govern quality KPIs, driving corrective actions where needed.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, customer expectations and business strategy.
✔️ Confirm products and deliverables meet requirements through certification or verification.
Support Right First Time delivery through coaching and defect‑prevention methods.
️ Provide QA support to design and construction, including LTQRs and supply chain quality.
⚛️ Support delivery of Nuclear Safety Education where required.
Develop and manage QA/QC programmes using a graded, risk‑based approach.
Lead internal and supply chain audits and assess supplier capability.
Manage Product Validation & Certification, including document packs and Certificates of Conformity.
Develop and report KPIs for performance and continuous improvement.
️ Investigate quality concerns, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Ensure LTQR records comply with legal and contractual requirements.
Ensure supplier understanding of SL quality requirements and verify application across supply chain.
Build supply chain quality culture through visits, briefs and communications.
Participate in Contract Opening and Technical Review meetings.
Maintain required competencies and support quality capability development in the business
Qualifications
CQI/IRCA Lead Auditor or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification (desirable)
Member or Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)
Significant experience in quality management for major infrastructure projects
Strong background in quality management system development and maintenance
Experience auditing engineering, construction and operational deliverables
Skilled in managing non‑conformances and continuous improvement
Familiar with quality tools, metrics, reporting and assurance frameworks
⚙️ Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, Power Systems or advanced manufacturing
