Role
You will be part of the expanding internal Application Development team, which develops and maintains mission critical applications. You will be integral to setting up a new Microsoft Dynamics capability in the team, taking on the support and development of current and future applications. Microsoft Dynamics forms a major part of the technical roadmap, with a plan to insource support and development of externally built applications, and to produce internally developed solutions. You will join the team from its inception with the ability to influence structure, training and direction. Applications are used by staff to perform essential activities such as booking theory tests, roadside enforcement encounters and annual vehicle tests. Home office locations include Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oldham, Leeds, Birmingham or Swansea, with regular attendance in Swansea likely during the initial phase. The organisation invests in development teams to enable career advancement through modern cloud and mobile development technologies.
You will
* Have proven experience of software development, with detailed knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics.
* Lead and inspire team members, providing guidance and support to enable delivery of objectives.
* Lead the development of value-driven services to fulfil customer needs, guiding app teams in building solutions.
* Act as a recognized subject matter expert, offering guidance in the resolution of live issues.
* Work to modern development standards, practices and techniques to develop user-focused solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience working with technical teams to deliver user-focused services in an agile environment.
* Experience coaching and mentoring software developers and test engineers.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CE or Microsoft Power Platform services, including capabilities, boundaries and constraints.
* Development experience with C#, .NET, Dynamics Plugin, Power Fx, Model/Canvas Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 CE, PowerShell, ALM pipelines, Azure DevOps, Data verse.
* Part of the Government Digital and Data profession and eligible for a Digital and Data allowance.
* Base pay and allowance: base £42,848 plus Digital and Data allowance up to £14,552, with the exact amount determined by the selection process.
