A leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure schemes across highways, structures, drainage and wider civil works. With a strong pipeline of National Highways and local authority projects, they are expanding their site leadership team and require an experienced Site Manager to support safe, efficient delivery on fast‑paced schemes.
Your new role
You will take responsibility for day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification. You will coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant and materials, manage site documentation, and maintain strongmunication with Project Managers, Engineers and client representatives. You will drive a positive safety culture, oversee RAMS, permits and quality checks, and ensurepliance with National Highways standards andpany procedures.
Key duties include:
1. Leading daily site activities and supervising site teams
2. Managing subcontractors and ensuring work aligns with programme and design
3. Overseeing H&S, quality and environmentalpliance
4. Reviewing drawings, resolving site issues and escalating risks appropriately
5. Maintaining accurate site records, reporting and progress updates
What you'll need to succeed
6. Proven experience as a Site Manager within civils infrastructure (highways, drainage, earthworks, structures or similar)
7. Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site‑level problem solving
8. Experience of working in an environment with asbestos would be advantagous
9. Experience coordinating subcontractors and multi‑disciplinary teams.
10. National Highways Passport – current and in date
11. SSSTS (minimum) – SMSTS desirable
12. CSCS card
13. Full UK driving licence
