Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a short order cook. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while delivering high-quality meals to our guests. The ideal candidate will possess a background in food preparation and cooking hearty traditional meals.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of simple dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
* Assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
* Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
* Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements.
* Serve meals to customers when required, ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is highly desirable.
* Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations although full training is given
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
* A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and develop culinary skills further.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.21 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
