You'll Need:

* Commitment to safeguarding – all candidates will undergo enhanced DBS checks
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Supporting Student Success
* Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions for students who need extra support
* Help GCSE and A-Level students master challenging texts, essay techniques, and language analysis
* Work with learners across all abilities—from those building foundational literacy skills to high-achievers pursuing top grades
* Support reading, writing, and spoken language development across the curriculum
Building Your Teaching Skills
* Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging English lessons across language and literature
* Develop strategies for making complex texts and concepts accessible to all learners
* Learn classroom management techniques in a supportive environment
* Observe excellent teaching practice firsthand
* Gain experience with creative writing workshops and structured debate activities
Making a Real Difference
* See students' confidence grow as their reading and writing skills flourish
* Help young people develop critical thinking and communication skills they'll use for life

What We're Looking For
It Would Be Great If You Have:
* Any tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering experience with young people
* Familiarity with the UK secondary English curriculum and set texts
* Clear ambitions to pursue qualified teacher status
* Experience leading reading groups, creative writing projects, or drama activities
